Personality :Due to the prejudice and loneliness he suffered in his childhood, Naruto developed a craving for acknowledgement. In order to achieve this, Naruto would pull pranks all around the village and even going far as strive for the title of Hokage. Even after graduating from the academy, Naruto was still determined to be recognised, but as he made more and more connections with others, his reasons for wanting to become Hokage underwent a change, having less to do with the desire for recognition, and more to do with wanting the strength to protect his home and the people close to him. As noted by Madara Uchiha, Naruto is a fervent believer in the Will of Fire, likening him to his old rival, Hashirama Senju, in this respect.[8] Naruto's unstoppable determination and drive strongly impacts the lives around him, even his enemies had been affected by his empathy. Both Kakashi and Temari had referred to Naruto's amazing charisma as a "unique power" that allows him to change the worldly views of others.
Naruto is most prominently characterised by his hyperactivity, being exuberant, impatient, impulsive, and inattentive. According to Kakashi, Naruto learns through his body. He is relatively naive and simple, being slow to understand a principle or situation, and often requiring an oversimplified analogy in order to grasp what is being explained to him. Overall, Naruto responds best to competition and possesses a great degree of confidence in himself, loudly proclaiming that he will master whatever technique he is learning in a fraction of the usual time, though he will not hesitate to ask for help if he needs it.

Naruto has a number of other distinct traits as well. He inherited his catch-phrase "Dattebayo!" (だってばよ！) from his mother, Kushina Uzumaki, who would say "(da)ttebane" ((だ)ってばね) when excited or frustrated. He also has a childish quirk of keeping his money in a chubby, green-frog wallet he affectionately calls "Gama-chan." He is also very brash and rarely pays heed to formality or social standings. He almost exclusively eats ramen, and is a frequent customer at the Ramen Ichiraku. He is also something of a pervert, something he tends to be reprimanded for by Sakura as well as Iruka, and has only become more so after meeting Jiraiya. He smiles near-constantly which during his childhood, was to mask the sadness of his lonely life. Those who are closest to him are able to recognise when his smile isn't genuine.

However, when the situation calls for it or when someone dear to him is in trouble, Naruto can be very serious, and will instantly try to come to their aid. This is most commonly seen in the series through his interactions with his team-mates, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno. With Sasuke, Naruto views him as a brother, and throughout Part II strives to bring him back to Konoha, despite his willing defection from the village. With Sakura, Naruto has a long-standing crush on her, and Naruto would do all in his power to make her happy, even if it is at the expense of his own happiness. Sai has indicated that this dedication has progressed to the point of love, though Sakura doesn't reciprocate these feelings for him. Sai also notes that the strain of making Sakura happy and bringing Sasuke home are the source of Naruto's internal pain. Like Guy and Rock Lee, when Naruto makes a promise he assumes the "nice guy pose".
After the loss of his mentor Jiraiya, talking with his own father, and talking to Jiraiya's killer and former pupil, Nagato, Naruto came to understand the downside of revenge, and desired to save Sasuke from it even more. Naruto also tried to stop the Kumo-nin from exacting their revenge against Sasuke, since this would only create a cycle of hatred. It appeared that Naruto was becoming increasingly desperate in his quest to save Sasuke, as he was willing to take physical abuse from the Kumo-nin over selling Sasuke out as well as getting down on his knees before the Raikage and beg for Sasuke to be forgiven for his crimes. Furthermore, after learning from Madara the reason of Sasuke's hatred, Naruto decided and proclaimed to Sakura, who was trying to get him to leave his quest, that he truly understood Sasuke now. He wanted to save Sasuke, not just because of the promise he made to Sakura, but also for himself. However, after learning from Sai that the rest of his comrades were aiming to kill Sasuke, and that nobody in the village would ever accept him again, Naruto suffered from [{Wikipedia:Hyperventilation|hyperventilation]] due to the extreme conflict that he has been presented with.

Upon finally reuniting with Sasuke, Naruto sympathised with the criminal for his actions, and refused to back down or kill him, instead finding a third solution. Naruto came to the conclusion that the two of them were indeed destined to fight, as Madara predicted, and that when that happens, since both he and Sasuke were top-ranked ninja, they would most likely die. Naruto is fully prepared to shoulder Sasuke's hatred as a friend, and is, in a way, the sole person to not have given up hope on him. However, like the rest of Konoha, Naruto has finally given up in bringing Sasuke back as a citizen of the village, believing that words would no longer have any effect to allowing them to understand each other, and has resigned himself to fighting (and potentially killing) Sasuke to protect Konoha. To prevent himself from dying when he fights Sasuke, Naruto started training to master the Nine-Tails, saying he was through running from being a jinchūriki and prepared to complete "that technique".

Naruto also has shown to deeply love both his parents. When he met his father, and despite being angry at Minato for sealing the Nine-Tails inside of him, Naruto quickly got over his anger and was overjoyed and proud to be the Fourth Hokage's son. He also tearfully embraced his mother Kushina when he met her. After learning how his parents met and what happened during the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha, Naruto told his mother that he could finally understand how a parent's love felt like and that he didn't blame her or Minato, instead he felt glad to be their son. When the Fourth Raikage criticised on how Minato was supposedly the "Child of the Prophecy" and claiming that he failed when he died against the Nine-Tails, Naruto, remembering what his mother had told him about Minato's love and faith in his son, angrily reproached the Raikage for insulting his father because he didn't know him, and that the Fourth Hokage hadn't failed at all.[9] Naruto also explained to the Fourth Raikage that despite his parents dying shortly after he was born, they both made him strong.[10]As an adult, Naruto becomes wiser and more mature, though he retains some of his negligence for honourifics.[45] Although he finally achieves his dream of becoming Hokage, its many tasks not only overwhelm Naruto at times, but often leave him unable to spend time with his family, particularly upsetting his son Boruto. Naruto is also more responsible in his duties as Hokage and as a father: he forbids use of the Kote in the Chūnin Exams as it diminishes a shinobi's true potential; he is disappointed by Boruto's cheating in the exams and even removes his forehead protector in front of the audience after lecturing him. Nevertheless, Naruto deeply loves his family, as he creates shadow clones to tend to them while he's busy, protects them in times of danger, spends time with them when he can, and expresses pride in his children's successes.[39] He in fact adopts Hiruzen's philosophy that everyone in the village is his family, believing that true relationships are made up of love rather than blood relations.[46] His refusal to give his son any special treatment due to their blood-relationships, along with the insistence that the boy professionally addresses him as "Seventh" or "Hokage" while in the office, is a testament of Naruto's lack of bias and prejudice






History :Naruto was born as the son of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the Nine-Tails' second jinchūriki, Kushina Uzumaki. Naruto's parents named him after the main character of Jiraiya's first book, thus making the Sannin his godfather.[4]
Prior to Naruto's birth, his parents and the Third Hokage knew that the seal that kept the Nine-Tails within Kushina would be in danger of breaking during childbirth. To prevent that threat Kushina was taken a short distance outside of the village to give birth in a secure, secret location, with Biwako Sarutobi and Taji as her midwives, a few ANBU as security, and with Minato keeping the seal in place. However, immediately after Kushina gave birth, Madara Uchiha appeared and took Naruto hostage, demanding that Minato step away from Kushina or he would kill the newborn child. Madara then used a clever diversion that forced Minato to transport the baby to a safer location, allowing him to escape with Kushina. By the time Minato could intervene, Madara had already succeeded in releasing the Nine-Tails.

Fortunately, Kushina (who survived the extraction thanks to her strong vitality) was saved by Minato and brought to Naruto, leaving the weakened mother to care for the sleeping Naruto while Minato went to combat Madara. To save the village, Minato sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tails within Naruto, believing that his son would someday have need of the beast's power to defeat Madara's threat once and for all.[5] Suddenly orphaned, Naruto was left to grow up knowing nothing of his parents, receiving only his mother's last name because the Third Hokage thought that it was best that nobody knew that he was related to the Fourth Hokage.

Before Minato died, he asked that the villagers of Konoha view Naruto as a hero who had helped defeat the Nine-Tails. However, only a few of the villagers honoured his request, while most instead resented him for containing the monster that had destroyed their home. In light of this, the Third Hokage decreed that nobody should ever speak of the truth about Naruto, hoping that by doing this, their children would not resent him as they did. The children, however, followed their parents' lead, despite not knowing why. Apart from the Third Hokage, Iruka Umino was the only one who acted as a surrogate family to the young Naruto along with the owner of Ramen Ichiraku: Teuchi and his daughter Ayame to some extent.

When Naruto first met Sasuke Uchiha in the Ninja Academy, they were matched to spar against each other. Naruto was excited at the opportunity to defeat Sasuke and become so popular like him, however he was easily beaten. By looking at Sasuke's eyes, Naruto realised that they were filled with hatred. When Iruka told them to make the reconciliation seal, they both refused.[6] Then, Naruto became determined to beat Sasuke, making him his rival. When Naruto found out that Sasuke was also an orphan, he was secretly happy for not being the only one alone and wanted to talk to him, but couldn't because of his jealousy. Still, Naruto wished that, someday, Sasuke would acknowledge him as an equal.

Strenghts:Naruto was an inept student in the Academy, failing to graduate three times before becoming a shinobi. Through sheer determination, however, his skills rapidly improve in Part I as he defeats strong shinobi such as Neji Hyūga, Gaara, and Kabuto Yakushi, earning acknowledgement from the Sannin for his potential.[53] Under Jiraiya's tutelage for two-and-a-half years, Naruto becomes strong enough to fight members of Akatsuki, such that Konoha villagers praise him as a hero of Hokage-material after he defeats Pain.[54] Although the Fourth Shinobi World War was initially meant for his protection by most of the Kage, Naruto's eventual and required participation leads to the defeat of many reincarnated Kage,[55] tailed beasts,[56] and enemies of Ten-Tails' calibre;[57] others believe Naruto has surpassed the previous Hokage and is the central force in winning the war.[58][59][60] Naruto's skills further improve in later years: he defeats the Tenseigan-wielding Toneri Ōtsutsuki; by adulthood, he achieves his life-long dream by becoming the Seventh Hokage.[13]

As an Uzumaki and a reincarnation of Asura Ōtsutsuki,[62] Naruto has massive reserves of strong chakra, estimated as at least four times greater than Kakashi's and described by Karin as "bright and warm."[63][64] He initially struggled with controlling his chakra properly, which was offset by his large reserves.[65] Naruto's control improved greatly over time, becoming able to transfer his chakra to others[66] and perform one-handed hand seals.[67] He later receives chakra from the other tailed beasts and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, increasing his reserves further. Naruto's powerful life force grants him an extreme longevity, healing power, stamina, and vitality,[68] allowing him to survive (albeit barely) the extraction of a tailed beast.[69] These traits are all augmented after he receives a prosthetic forearm made from Hashirama's cells.

While naturally a short-range fighter, Naruto's taijutsu wasn't very adept in Part I, using unpredictable attacks to surprise combat experts like Kiba Inuzuka and Neji.[70][71] He often utilised shadow clones or Kurama's chakra to engage or overwhelm his enemies in combat; with the former, he has created techniques such as the Naruto Uzumaki Combo and its stronger versions.[72] Although these tactics resume in Part II, Naruto becomes more capable in taijutsu due to Jiraiya's training, being able to contend with other skilled users, including a pair of skilled kenjustu users single-handed.[73][74][75][76] He has grown fast enough to rescue an ally from nearby danger,[77] and strong enough to punch an opponent several metres while exhausted.[78] By adulthood, Naruto's improved taijutsu allows him to defeat dozens of opponents without using shadow clones or enhancements.[21]


As the jinchūriki of Kurama's Yang half, Naruto had a massive chakra reserve at least a hundredfold greater than Kakashi's.[63] Due to his Uzumaki lineage and being Kurama's jinchūriki his entire life, Naruto's chakra has more effectively mixed with the fox's,[79] allowing him to perform several chakra-taxing techniques without feeling fatigued. While accessing Kurama's chakra, typically through sheer rage, enhanced Naruto's fighting abilities, the fox's negative influence made Naruto more aggressive and in less control of his actions. This caused him to uncontrollably access Version 1 and Version 2 forms, and needed Kurama's power to be suppressed through various methods to regain control. These drawbacks made Naruto decide to rely on his own strength instead of Kurama's until he proved able to control it completely. By the time he became the jinchūriki of Kurama's Yin half, he could access his Version 1 form without the initial drawbacks

Realising he could not avoid using Kurama's power, Naruto sought to learn how to control it with help from Killer B, the jinchūriki of Gyūki, and unexpectedly, his own mother, Kushina. Upon succeeding and taking most of Kurama's chakra, Naruto attains Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, which greatly increases his speed, strength, and defences. Because he didn't yet have Kurama's cooperation, however, Naruto needed to exercise extreme caution while using the form, as it could cost him his life. Eventually, when Kurama acknowledges Naruto's life-long strength of character and Naruto learns the fox's true name, their new-found friendship grants Naruto access to Kurama Mode, another increase in physical abilities. Two years later, he could isolate the form to one hand, either to enhance his strength or to block attacks.

Failing to transform into a replica of Kurama at first, Naruto soon achieved a Tailed Beast Mode in the unique form of a transparent chakra shroud. In it, he could create Tailed Beast Balls and upon others entering the shroud, he could revitalise their life forces,[81][82] or have them temporally don chakra-cloaks.[83] After becoming the jinchūriki of Kurama's complete self, Naruto was capable of manifesting it outside his body to fight independently. Naruto has also received chakra from the other tailed beasts during the Fourth Shinobi World War,[84] making him a human pillar for the power of Ten Tails.[85] This allows him to access their unique abilities himself or infuse them into his Rasengan and its variants.

In the Academy, the Sexy Technique was the only technique that Naruto could perform successfully, with no practical use other than to shock his instructors. During his shinobi career, he learns several ninjutsu styles from Jiraiya, such as how to summon toads of Mount Myōboku like Gamabunta to assist him in battle or to crush enemies from above. He becomes skilled in shurikenjutsu, able to throw weapons quickly and with precision,[86] barrage an enemy using shadow clones,[87] or as Hokage, cross blades with Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki.[39] Naruto's repetoire expands to fūinjutsu upon receiving Gerotora near the start of the Fourth Shinobi World War.[88]

Naruto's ability to sense chakra is shown only through his modes. He can identify chakra signatures from vast distances in Sage Mode,[89] detect negative emotions in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, and empower his sensory abilities to the highest possible level in Six Paths Sage Mode,[90] able to sense the invisible shadows of Limbo. In the anime, Jiraiya introduces Naruto to cooperation ninjutsu, where two or more people combine their techniques to create an even more powerful one.[91] The collaboration techniques he performs with other individuals typically utilise his own elemental affinity, such as the Typhoon Water Vortex Technique with Yamato, the Wind Release: Toad Gun with Gamatatsu, and the Scorch Release: Halo Hurricane Jet Black Arrow Style Zero with Sasuke.

Naruto's first trademark technique is the Shadow Clone Technique, which he is noted to have attained a mastery of superiority to other users.[92] In the Academy, Naruto was unable to perform most of the basic techniques taught, including a basic Clone Technique. However, when Iruka risks his life to save him, Naruto overcame this by performing the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, effectively conquering his inability to create a clone. From that point on, Naruto's skill with the shadow clone technique blossomed to great heights. As a ninja with unusually high chakra reserves, Naruto can use this technique, as well as it's advanced version, to create hundreds of shadow clones and retain a decent amount of chakra in each one with relative ease.[93] He can use them to outnumber or deceive his enemies in combat, manoeuvre himself in mid-air, transform into weapons, scout an area, or test an opponent's abilities.[94] During his wind training in Part II, Naruto learns that he, the original user, will receive all knowledge and experiences that shadow clones gain once they disperse. This method allows him to drastically speed up his training by learning, what could be completed in years, in just days.

Naruto's second trademark technique is the Rasengan, a one-handed technique created by his father. Due to his poor chakra control, Naruto often uses a shadow clone to form the spherical shape while he provides the chakra. Over time, Naruto's improved skill allows him to produce larger versions of the Rasengan, perform it faster,[95] and even have his shadow clones make their own Rasengan. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, he became able to form a Rasengan and its variants without any shadow clones or transformations, even in both hands simultaneously,[96] and increasing its size, making it noticeably larger.[97][98][99] Naruto has also shown the ability to release the Rasengan as an energy wave,[21] or as a projectile in the anime.[100] Using senjutsu or Kurama's chakra, Naruto can create more powerful and elaborate variations of the Rasengan; using the latter, he even develops the Super Mini-Tailed Beast Ball, performing it in a similar manner to the Rasengan.


Naruto's natural affinity is Wind Release, which he learned from Asuma Sarutobi to flow into his weapons to increase their offensive might.[101] Using shadow clones, he was able to complete his father's difficult task of adding his elemental nature to the Rasengan. One shadow clone helps form the Rasengan, while the other provides the wind chakra, producing the Wind Release: Rasengan and the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. The latter, when used as a melee attack, inflicts cellular damage on both the enemy and Naruto; he later learns to throw the Rasenshuriken to avoid injuring himself. In The Last: Naruto the Movie, he became skilled enough to form a Rasenshuriken without any shadow clones and even guide it. Using Sage Mode or Kurama's chakra, Naruto can create different-sized variations, or even two Rasenshuriken simultaneously.

Via Six Paths Senjutsu, Naruto can utilise all five nature transformations, as well as Yin–Yang Release.[102] He can make perfect use of the latter to revitalise life-forces, heal whomever he touches, and restore missing organs.[103] With chakra from the tailed beasts, Naruto can also use the kekkei genkai of Shukaku's Magnet Release, Son Gokū's Lava Release, and Kokuō's Boil Release.

After Jiraiya's death, Naruto was trained in senjutsu at Mount Myōboku, requiring his high chakra reserves. Unlike Jiraiya, he was able to perfectly balance natural energy with his chakra to enter Sage Mode, symbolised by the orange pigmentation around his eyes. Using Sage Mode makes Naruto's techniques stronger, enhances his physical abilities,[104][105][106] and allows him to utilise the Frog Kata taijutsu style.[107] Since Fukasaku was unable to fuse with Naruto and gather natural energy for him (due to Kurama's interference), Naruto employs shadow clones instead. Once they disperse, the natural energy they absorb will transfer to the original when need be, allowing him to resume using Sage Mode for a number of times. However, creating more than five shadow clones overall disrupts the focus of the ones gathering natural energy. The need for this method diminishes over time as Naruto becomes able to enter Sage Mode faster.[108]

Naruto can combine also Sage Mode with Kurama's chakra to further enhance his abilities, such that he can resist Nagato's control, shatter Truth-Seeking Balls and, two years later, fly without the use of Six Paths Senjutsu.[109]


With the power given to him by Hagoromo, Naruto gained access to the Six Paths Sage Mode (六道仙人モード, Rikudō Sennin Mōdo).[5] In this mode, his eyes become yellow and his pupils take on a cross-like shape — without manifesting the orange pigmentation around his eyes present in Sage Mode. Naruto can also don a new chakra cloak similar to Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, which he can access instantly and maintain much longer than Sage Mode.[110] Naruto's Six Paths Sage Mode cloak changes several times throughout his later years. Naruto's physical attributes and techniques are further augmented,[111][112][113] to the point he can dodge attacks at the speed of light. The mode grants him flight and immunity from Truth-Seeking Balls.

Naruto also manifests nine Truth-Seeking Balls, composed of all five basic natures, Yin–Yang Release, and Six Paths Sage Chakra. He can mould the balls into staves and platforms, fire them as projectiles, convert them into Tailed Beast Balls to create Tailed Beast Ball Rasenshuriken, or transfer them to his shadow clones. Naruto also retains use of his Tailed Beast Mode avatar of Kurama, which rivals Sasuke's Complete Body — Susanoo in size and power.[114] Using shadow clones, he can create and combine three Kurama avatars into a single construct with three faces and six arms, similar to Asura's. [115] This state allows Naruto to infuse two massive Rasenshuriken with natural energy.[1
